Áttblaðahúfa (uppskrift) Rosepatternhat (pattern)

This pattern is for a hat with the traditional eight leaved rose. Some call it a star or a snowflake.
The pattern is simple and gives many possibilities to play with colours and use up leftover yarn. Just add some stars in the top of the head or finish with another colour or the pattern colour and you have a new version.
It is also easy to make it smaller, just cast on 16 fewer sts. or shift to smaller needles. It is fairly big, but if you need it bigger, then just add 16 sts and you have a wider hat.
Making it deeper is also easy by adding few rounds before the pattern starts and / or before the decreasing part starts.
This is one of my favourite patterns and I usually knit few of them when I travel.
